Aiming to be the world leader in safe operation
The annual MOL Safety Conference, hosted by Azalea Maritime, took place from the 16th till the 17th of March 2016 in the Hotel Rixos Libertas, Dubrovnik. This year, more than 200 participants from 17 countries, including the seafarers, company representatives and guest speakers attended the Safety Conference. The key topics of the 2016 Safety Conference were related to improving safety and achieving and maintaining the Company goal (4 Zeroes: Zero fatal accidents, Zero serious marine incidents, Zero oil pollution, Zero cargo damage), contributing to the Company goal of becoming the world leader in safe operation under 'One MOL' as a global team. Seafarer were also familiarized with the long term Company plans, continuous investments in their training and additional opportunities of transfer to different types of tanker vessels within the Company fleet by their Ship Managers, as well as new projects allowing the seafarers to explore new, exciting and challenging markets. The seafarers also had the opportunity to attend the presentation in regards to the cultural differences on board, as well as the social security program introduced by the representative of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs of the Republic of Croatia. During the two day program, seafarers, together with the Company representatives, attended various workshop sessions whose main emphasis were the proposals for improving safety on board ship and learning from previous incidents. During the official dinner, the Company showed gratitude to the seafarers with long service and awarded them with the 10 and 15 years of service awards. For the first time, this year the 30 years service award was introduced and presented to Mr. Teruyuki Tsutsumi, Managing Director of Azalea Maritime B.V.
