The annual MOL Safety Conference, took place on the 30th of April 2019 in the Hotel Lotte, Vladivostok, followed by the Ship Manager seminar on the 31st of May 2019. Azalea Maritime Training Centre was invited to participate during the LNG seminar, organized by MOL LNG Transport (Asia) Ltd. The topic of the training session was LNG Carrier Propulsion Types Familiarization, with the aim of introducing different propulsion systems installed on LNG carriers to the senior and junior deck and engine officers without previous experience on such propulsion system types. The training session included various topics such as advantages and disadvantages of steam propulsion, advantages and disadvantages of low speed engine propulsion, DFDE propulsion, GCU operation, cargo machinery, BOG management, advantages and disadvantages of DFDE propulsion, DFDE propulsion troubleshooting, incidents and accidents.

The annual MOL Safety Conference, hosted by Azalea Maritime, took place on the 09th of April 2019 in the Hotel Rixos Libertas, Dubrovnik, followed by the Ship Manager seminar on the 10th of April 2019. 180 participants, seafarers, company representatives and guest speakers, from 18 different countries discussed and reviewed the strategy of the Company goal - One MOL, in order to become the world leader in safe operation providing stress-free services and achieving 4 Zeroes - Zero fatal accidents, Zero serious marine incidents, Zero oil pollution, Zero cargo damage. Unfortunately, the participants had to be reminded of the incidents occurred in 2018. During the two-day program, seafarers, together with the company representatives, had the opportunity to attend various workshops, providing new ideas for improving safe operation on board ship and sharing experience from past incidents including lessons learned. The most creative ideas have been awarded with a small token of appreciation. In addition, the participants had opportunity to get informed about the MOL's new technological solutions to be installed on board fleet vessels, like navigation system using augmented reality (AR) technology jointly developed by Furuno Electric Co., Ltd.

During the official dinner, the Company showed gratitude to the seafarers with long service and awarded them with the appropriate awards for 15 years of service.

We are proud to announce that Capt. Zeljko Vucetic (4th from the left) has been awarded with MOL Presidential Award for 2018. The ceremony was held at Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) headquarter in Tokyo, Japan, on 07/12/2018. The awards are intended to recognize the ongoing safety-related contributions of MOL Group officers and engineers and recognize their key role, in cooperation with fellow seafarers and ship management companies, in ensuring the safe operation of vessels. The recipients share a commitment to the education and training of younger seafarers, an exemplary attitude in their on board work, and years of success in ensuring the safety of the MOL Group fleet.

Capt. Vucetic joined MOL in January 1999, and is one of the first seafarers from Montenegro to join the Azalea Maritime / MOL cadet training program. During 20 years with the Company, he gained experience on various types of crude oil and product tankers, worked in the Ship Management office, and progressing through ranks, was promoted to Master in 2011.
