The course aims to provide knowledge required to enable personnel without designated security duties in connection with a Port Facility Security Plan (PFSP) to enhance security in accordance with the requirements of Chapter XI-2 of SOLAS 74 as amended, the ISPS Code, the IMDG Code, the IMO/ILO Code of Practice on Security in Ports, and guidance contained in IMO MSC.1/Circ.1341.
The course is designated for all personnel who will be employed or engaged in any capacity in a port facility that is required to comply with the provisions of the ISPS Code who will not be assigned specific security duties in connection with the Port Facility Security Plan.
Those who successfully complete this course should be able to undertake the duties and responsibilities of a Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO), as defined in section A/2.1.8 (and section A/17.1) of the ISPS Code.
It is assumed that those attending this course will be persons employed or engaged in any capacity in a port facility that is required to comply with the provisions of the ISPS Code who will not be assigned specific security duties in connection with the Port Facility Security Plan.
The course takes full account of the detailed outline set in D.45A. part of the Regulation on ranks and certification of seafarers (Official Gazette Montenegro number 55/2013). The course is fully compliant with the IMO Model Course 3.25.
